Brian Rosen
Assistant Coach

Brian Rosen enters his second season on staff with Davidson Volleyball in 2018.

During his first campaign, he helped guide freshman middle Ellie Crosley to Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and A-10 All-Rookie Team accolades. He also helped lead captain Mason Rooney to earn national recognition, ranking second in the country in 2017 in triple doubles.

Rosen arrived from Providence High School, where he served as the head coach for one season.  He was named Coach of the Year by two different outlets, as he coached All-American Emily Konchan and the rest of the Panthers to an undefeated regular season and a SoMeck8 conference title.

Rosen also spent the last nine years as Club Director and National Team coach at Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club, where he has led his last six consecutive teams to USAV National Championship bids. Rosen's tutelage led to three NC Gatorade Player of the Year awards, and two All-Americans.

Rosen was honored with the AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award in 2013, a national award given to the top 30 coaches in the country under the age of 30 at any level. He was one of just two high school coaches to receive the plaudit.

Prior to Providence, Rosen was the program head at Charlotte Country Day for six seasons, accumulating a 169-66 record. Rosen was named Coach of the Year four times during his CCD tenure, and was a three-time nominee for National High School Coach of the Year. He led the Buccaneers to back-to-back state and conference titles. Rosen was head coach for current Wildcat Katharine Franz.

Before Charlotte Country Day, Rosen served as a volunteer coach at Winthrop University, and spent three years as the head coach of both the men's and women's club volleyball teams at the University of South Carolina. He also spent a year working community relations with the Carolina Panthers and has  spent the last several years as a teacher in secondary education.

Rosen hails from Altamonte Springs, Florida and graduated cum laude from South Carolina in 2008 with a degree in sport and entertainment management.

Rosen and his wife Angelica have a daughter, Bryce and reside in Davidson, near campus.

Erin Labasan
Volunteer Assistant Coach

Erin Labasan joined the Davidson Volleyball staff in late May of 2018, and will assist in multiple facets of the Wildcats' program.

Labasan arrives at Davidson after serving as both an assistant and then interim co-head coach at Smith College in Northampton, Mass. While with the Pioneers, Labasan spearheaded recruiting efforts and scouting reports, handled video content and promotional materials, and was a lead organizer in fundraising efforts for the program.

Labasan graduated from Grinnell College in 2011, where she earned Academic All-Conference honors for three seasons as a four-year starter for Grinnell, also the Pioneers. She also spent a year on the Pioneers softball team as starting left fielder.

The Neotsu, Oregon, product has also made stops in Naju and Gwangju, South Korea, and has served as a club coach in Seattle and in Holyoke, Mass.

Labasan earned her Masters' from Smith in Exercise and Sport Studies and currently resides in Davidson.
